Maybe after pressing Remove, there could be an Undo button for 5 seconds?
Or a section at the bottom of contacts called Recently Removed shown for a longer time like 24 hours?
Finally when I go to Remove a contact who is saved in my Google Contacts, it shows View Contact instead to remove from there. Maybe these kind of contacts could show Remove with a yellow exclamation mark
